We are thrilled to announce the 2025 Futurist Debut Book Award Winner! From more than 200 manuscripts of all types, lengths, styles, and genres submitted by debut authors to Alternating Current Press for the book prize, we’ve narrowed the list down to a winner.

The Futurist Debut Book Award celebrates the contributions of debut authors to some of the greatest literary works of our time. Congratulations to Alan Sincic, whose manuscript Portable Glory — a serio-comic mix of award-winning short stories about American culture, the earnest and the odd together, a snapshot that mingles the authentic landscape, rich in quotidian detail, with a secret dreamscape just beneath the surface — receives $1,000 and publication in our 2026 publishing season. We can’t wait to share this book with you!
