We are thrilled to announce the 2025 Electric Book Award Winner and Finalists! From more than 300 manuscripts of all types, lengths, styles, and genres submitted to Alternating Current Press for the book prize, we’ve narrowed the second round of reading down to this shortlist of finalists and selected a winner. Congrats to all of these authors, whose manuscripts will be offered publication by Alternating Current Press or one of our partnering imprints. The winner, Stacy Carlson, receives $300 + publication for The Gyre, her historical novel about a young Russian monk’s struggle with the arctic wild and all its spirits and folklore on his way to becoming the northernmost holy man in the world. Finalists will also have the opportunity to join our 2027 through 2028 publishing seasons. Congrats to the winner and finalists!
